Disgrifiad

SU-8 photoresist is used as a microfluidic structuring material. However the native SU-8 surface is too hydrophobic to enable capillary flow. The project that this dataset relates to has been the development of a two stage surface treatment that firstly renders the SU-8 surface hydrophilic and secondly stabilises the surface so that it remains hydrophilic for the longterm (in excess of three months). Contact angles images are taken using a goniometer and digital camera and saved as jpeg type. The contact angle is measured using the cameras post-capture analysis software and the data is in 2 column format of contact angle in degrees versus either treatment applied or versus time, in days. An Atomic Force Microscope is used to obtain images of the sample surface, RMS surface roughness values are obtained from the images using analysis software and data is in the form of roughness versus surface treatment applied. Xray photoelectron spectroscopy data are measured using a Kratos Axis Ultra DLD ultra high vacuum system. Data was collected with pass energies of 160 eV for the survey spectra and 40 eV for the high resolution scans. All spectra were taken with a 90° take off angle. Data is recorded in a two column format of counts per second versus binding energy.
