Disgrifiad

Glucaric acid is a key glucose-derived platform molecule with reported applications in material science and pharmaceutical fields. This article details the first methodology for synthesis of crystalline D-glucaric acid complete with quantitative yields (98.7 %) and spectroscopic analysis, starting from glucaric acid's commercially available forms (Ca/K-glucarate salts).

The data contained herein charts; cation exchange of K-glucarate to yield the free acid glucaric acid - with corresponding time resolved ICP-MS and 1H-NMR analyses. Also included are nmr spectra of the products recovered when recovery of the glucaric acid product was attempted. Finally, nmr spectra, elemental analysis, IR spectra, X-ray diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction datas for the as-sythesised desired product; crystalline D-glucaric acid are presented.
