Description

The electrosurgical sealing of blood vessels was captured using a Dantec Dynamics digital image correlation (DIC) system. A total of six porcine carotid arteries were sealed using the Gyrus OpenSeal system. Each of the seals was captured using DIC, with the images captured at a rate of 5Hz. Following the capturing of the electrosurgical seal each seal was processed using Istra4D software. These processed files, along with the relevant calibration files are provided. Following the processing of the data within Istra4D, the data of interest was exported into Excel for processing and comparison of the different samples.

Results based upon the data included within this data set is published in Strain at http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/str.12197
