Mr Timothy Pickles

Research Interest
My major research interest is Rasch analysis, which was the focus of my MSc dissertation and it will be the focus of any future PhD I am fortunate enough to do, and I do currently have plans to submit an application to the NIHR Doctoral Fellowship call next January. I have presented this work and further subsequent Rasch work at YSM, ICTMC and ISOQOL.

My work in CTR principally involves being the statistician on multiple and differing clinical trials, across many disciplines: from dental caries to osteoarthritis, from behaviour change counselling to fluoride varnish and fissure sealants. I have mainly focussed on diseases such as type 1 diabetes and UTI, and interventions such as behaviour change counselling/motivational interviewing and point-of-care tests.I have also undertaken meta-analyses, epidemiological research and various other studies.

I also have an interest in early phase clinical trials and my work in CREATE is looking specifically into implementing these designs into the setting of treatments for rheumatoid arthritis.
